In summary

Cornbread Hemp, a family-owned USDA organic hemp company founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 2019, was ranked the number one fastest-growing hemp company in America on the 2024 Inc. 5000 list after growing nearly 3,000% over three years [1]. As the company extended from oils and capsules into hemp-derived THC beverages, The Wellness Agency advised on talent opportunities and go-to-market positioning. CEO Eric Zipperle has said TWA's guidance 'helped us sharpen our go-to-market for our THC beverage, and bring real energy to the brand.'

01

The position

Cornbread Hemp started in a living room in 2019 and by August 2024 employed more than fifty people. The 2024 Inc. 5000 ranked it the fastest-growing hemp company in America, the fastest-growing company in Kentucky, among the top ten fastest-growing consumer packaged goods companies, and 122nd fastest-growing company in the United States overall — on the back of roughly 3,000% revenue growth between 2020 and 2023 [1].

The company's differentiation was regulatory and operational rather than promotional: first-to-market USDA organic hemp, full-spectrum formulations containing a legal amount of THC, and third-party lab testing published openly. That is a credible foundation, but it is a foundation built for a supplements shelf. Beverages are a different business, with different buyers, different velocity expectations, and a far greater dependence on cultural presence.

02

The structure

TWA's contribution was to the talent and go-to-market side of the beverage extension. In a category where the product cannot be advertised through most conventional channels, talent and live-event presence carry disproportionate weight — the audience has to encounter the brand in a context where consumption makes sense.

The company's subsequent activity is consistent with that thesis, though it is worth being precise about attribution: Cornbread Hemp went on to announce the first-ever THC beverage sponsorship in college athletics in 2025, and was named the official THC beverage of Rock the Ocean's Tortuga Music Festival in 2026. Neither of those deals is publicly attributed to TWA, and we do not claim them. They are included as context for where the category and the brand have gone.

03

The outcome

Cornbread Hemp remains a market leader in hemp-derived THC and CBD, and its beverage line is now a live part of the business rather than a line extension experiment. The founders continue to advocate for federal regulation of cannabinoid products, which is itself a positioning decision — it puts the company on the side of the category maturing rather than the side of the loophole.

The honest summary of TWA's role here is advisory and specific: talent strategy and go-to-market sharpening for the beverage launch, in the CEO's own words. The Inc. 5000 ranking was earned before and independently of that work.

TWA's role, precisely

TWA advised on talent opportunities and go-to-market positioning for Cornbread Hemp's THC beverage line, as described on record by CEO Eric Zipperle. TWA does not claim credit for the company's Inc. 5000 ranking, which reflects 2020–2023 revenue growth [1], nor for its subsequent sponsorship deals, which are not publicly attributed to TWA.

TWA's guidance on strong talent opportunities helped us sharpen our go-to-market for our THC beverage, and bring real energy to the brand. They're hands-on, smart, and play the long game.
